Long Beach, CA
Owned by the City of Long Beach, the Long Beach Airport has been an important part of the community since the early 1900’s and a vital part of our nation’s aviation history. With its rich heritage and community focus, the city is implementing numerous improvements in the area of the airport surrounding the existing Long Beach Airport Terminal Building.
As part of the overall project, 3QC is providing Building Enclosure Commissioning for the new ticketing facility. The new 13,000 SF ticketing building is being designed and constructed to meet LEED v4 Gold criteria. 3QC will review BOD and OPR documentation for inclusion of building enclosure compliance, develop a building enclosure commissioning plan as well as construction checklists and test plan, review construction documents, verify systems test execution and maintain an issues log, review submittals, create a building enclosure system manual and verify owner training.
The airport covers 1,166 acres with five runways and is a hub of tourism and corporate activity for both passenger and cargo service. With its strategic location between Orange and Los Angeles Counties, the improvement program is seeking to retain Long Beach’s reputation for being a world-class airport known for its ease of use, comfortable atmosphere, and passenger experience. The goal of the overall airport improvement project is to provide an uncomplicated, operationally and energy efficient, value-driven design within a plan that can be developed in incremental stages. Improvements include airport ticketing, passenger concourse, security screening of both passengers and bags, and baggage claim.
