The Long Beach Airport is currently implementing numerous improvements in the area of the airport surrounding the existing Long Beach Airport Terminal Building. 3QC is performing commissioning services as part of the Program Management team to meet Title 24 requirements, LEED v4 enhanced commissioning, and recommissioning and building enclosure commissioning of the Historic Terminal Building. Functional testing will be performed on 100% of equipment and systems. Systems commissioned include: HVAC and Controls, Lighting and Controls, Domestic Hot Water, Irrigation controls, Conveyance, Solar Power, Low Voltage Systems, Security Building Enclosure.
The goal of the project is to provide an uncomplicated, operationally and energy efficient, value-driven design within a plan that can be developed in incremental stages. Improvements include airport ticketing, passenger concourse, security screening of both passengers and bags, and baggage claim. The new ticketing facility is being designed and constructed to meet LEED v4 Gold criteria, while the historic terminal building built in 1941 and named a City of Long Beach Cultural Heritage Landmark in 1990 will be recommissioned and improved as part of the program.
Project components include:
Component 1A – Checked Baggage Inspection System (CBIS) facility (approx. 6,200SF)
Component 1B – Baggage Claim Area Improvements (approx. 13,000SF)

Our team of commissioning experts brought a significant understanding of construction that helps us adapt to challenging schedules and schedule changes without impacting the critical path. We understand that the project schedule is a key project metric that makes the entire project team successful.
