Contra Costa County redeveloped their County Administration Building. The County vacated their previous building at 651 Pine Street and demolished it in its entirety which provided space for the construction of this satellite Administration Building. This new satellite Administration Building provides additional space to grow the functions of the existing County Seat and core County Government functions situated in the adjacent Main County Administration Building. The design enhances employee well-being and interactions, creating a sense of both community and place within the civic campus. A simple and strategic design approach, continued from the successful design of the Main County Administration Building, compliments that building and reinforces the sense of community. This project has a goal of LEED Gold certification.
3QC assisted the Construction Manager, with commissioning services to help meet LEED goals and assist the owner in achieving a fully functional facility that achieves their energy and occupant goals. Commissioning focused on the installation and performance of the following systems: Air Source Heat Pump Heating Hot Water Systems, Air Handling Systems, Terminal Units, Split System Cooling Units, Exhaust Systems, Building Automation System, Domestic Hot & Cold-Water System, Lighting & Lighting Control Systems.
Through 3QC’s efforts in working collaboratively with the entire construction team, the commissioning process has contributed to a more efficient and complete building, and building system operation, especially as it relates to building enclosure, the heating/cooling systems, and the building automation system. Additionally, 3QC supported the Contractor’s effort to organize, troubleshoot and confirm correct ASHP logic bridging the gap between the system’s factory controls and project’s ancillary equipment SOO.
