The 19J project is a sustainable 11-story mixed-use building located on the vibrant J Street Corridor of downtown Sacramento. 19J features 175 residential units and provides retail space on the ground level. The development team performed extensive market research that revealed a demand for smaller, more affordable microunits in the area and incorporated these findings into its vision of sustainable community urban living. Units range from smaller studios to a select amount of larger loft-style studios and one-bedroom units.
The 19J project has committed to partnering with Women’s Empowerment, a local non-profit dedicated to alleviating homelessness through job training and confidence-building for homeless women (they have helped over 1,400 homeless women obtain jobs in the Sacramento region). 19J will be providing 50-60 Women’s Empowerment graduates with job training and employment as our property managers, as well as housing on site over the course of 10 years. In keeping with creating a sustainable community, all residents will have access to a spacious rooftop “Sky Terrace” on the 10th-11th floors overlooking the downtown skyline with the ability to participate in vertical urban farming; and three outdoor/indoor communal lounges and fitness center on the 3rd-4th floors directly above the restaurant and outdoor patio spaces below.
Mohanna Development hired 3QC to help 19J achieve its sustainability goals by providing Enhanced Commissioning services. In addition, HRGA Architects hired 3QC to provide LEED Administration to help the team achieve its goal of LEED Silver Certification.
