Summary

This position is responsible for completing tasks assigned through the engineering team members producing project deliverables for the mechanical, electrical and plumbing aspects of a project from pre-construction through construction and post construction phases.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Creating project equipment lists from drawings, listing specified HVAC, lighting and other building systems.
  • Creating draft specifications related to the Commissioning requirements.
  • Reviewing equipment lists, plans, specs and other project documents to create Pre-functional Checklists and Functional Testing Checklists; which assists the contractor and other engineering team members in the field to ensure equipment is installed and operating correctly.
  • Participate in the submittal process for MEP equipment.
  • Assisting in the drafting of reports to document work performed on the construction sites.

Overall Attributes

  1. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  2. Familiar with reading plans.
  3. Ability to multi-task, take direction from multiple sources, and self-motivated.
  4. The position is located in our Folsom office and all work is expected to be completed in our office.
  5. The number of hours required is flexible, but would expect 15-20 hours of work a week during the school semester and open to ¾ or full-time work during the summer season.

Summary

This position is responsible for coordinating the mechanical, electrical and plumbing aspects of a project from pre-construction through construction and post construction phases. Valuing continuous growth, the Cx Field Engineer may be instructed to learnadditional building systems in order to increase their value to the overall commissioning team. The Cx Field Engineer will participate in a variety of project activities, including meeting attendance, site visits, document production, system troubleshooting and field activities. This position supports the Project Directors, Cx Providers, and assists in coordinating the commissioning-related activities of clients, contractors and subcontractors.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Business Development Develop and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, contractors and architects.Business Operations.
  • Provide building systems quality assurance to the construction industry by working with the project owners to execute the requirements set forth in the OPRfor the HVAC, lighting and other MEP systems.
  • Review plans, specs and other project documents to ensure they include all required information necessary for the contractor to purchase the correct equipment and install the equipment properly.
  • Participate inthe submittal process for MEP equipment.
  • Assure correct equipment is installed and responsible for quality control of installations.
  • Work with the contractor to witness equipment installation/start-up, ensuring equipment is installed and operates correctly.
  • Able to commission a building; testing and inspecting equipment in each phase of operation to ensure the entire system works together to meet contract requirements.
  • Ensure training is provided to building maintenance staff.
  • Write narrative into the various commissioning reports or site observation reports to document work performed on the construction sites.

Overall Attributes

  1. Understanding and experience with the practice of Commissioning in accordance with ASHRAE Guideline 0 and other related guidelines.
  2. Understanding of HVAC, lighting, and control systems, including an ability to evaluate and troubleshoot.
  3. Knowledge of TAB procedures and theory.
  4. Possess an understanding or willingness to learn the governing codes (Title-24, LEED, ZNE, CMC, CBC, CEC, CFC etc.) and standards (ASHRAE).
  5. Highly motivated and self-directed, with history of taking initiative to solve problems.
  6. Ability to communicate technical information as a team player – good collaborator!
  7. Willingness to engage in continuing education to increase your working knowledge and understanding of MEP controls, low-voltage systems, building enclosure problems, sustainability issues, energy management principles, and energy efficiency strategies.
  8. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Fieldwire – and a willingness to increase your computer skills.
  9. Ability to work additional hours as necessary to meet business plan objectives.
  10. Ability to travel as necessary throughout California – anticipated 2-3 days a week.
  11. Associate’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Science, or equivalent business experience and 3+ years in the AEC or GC industry.
  12. Commissioning industry certificate is required – or obtained within first 6 months of hire.

Summary

Responsible for performing commissioning process tasks and providing quality deliverables meeting the 3QC Cx Process. Specific tasks may include design review, project meetings, site observation (inspection) visits, project issue tracking, as well as plan/report production and project team coordination.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Perform site visits for system/facility assessments, system functionality assessments, energy efficiency evaluations, installation reviews, witnessing start-ups, witnessing contractor testing/demonstrations and Functional Testing.oPlanning and Conducting Site VisitsoDeliverables After Site Visits.
  • Participate in tasks of research, data collection, and data analysis.
  • Participate in development of Prefunctional and Functional Checklists, testing procedures or sequence of operations, Cx Plan/Reports, meeting presentations and all project deliverables as requested.
  • Prepare necessary project documents on a timely basis, consistent with 3QC’s format.
  • Participate in project system’s troubleshooting, diagnostics and solution development.
  • Document, report and communicate the project quality requirements, following 3QC’s standard practices.Business Administration.
  • Provide candidate recommendations through industry networking opportunities.
  • Participate in the recruiting interviewprocess.
