Description
  • The City of Temecula’s first LEED® certified project was reaching for Gold. The Civic Center Complex includes both a new City Hall and a mixed used facility and parking structure. Sustainability was an important goal for the City; therefore, numerous “green” elements were designed into the project including photovoltaic solar panels, a custom designed IDEC (Indirect Direct Evaporative Cooling) HVAC system, low-flow water efficient fixtures, use of local materials, day-lighting, and a building management system.

Description
  • In line with the County’s vision for sustainability and in an effort to consolidate departments and accommodate future growth, the County of San Joaquin designed and constructed a premier facility in the center of the Stockton. Honored with the 2009 Project of the Year Award from the American Public Works Association, the project also achieved LEED® Gold Certification. Recycled materials and energy efficient systems were built into the facility including day lighting, building automation systems, energy management systems, photovoltaic panels, and energy efficient HVAC. Environmental impacts in fabrication, installation, longevity and post life disposal were all considerations in material selection and the construction process. 3QC not only provided enhanced commissioning for the facility and systems but also developed and is managing a Measurement and Verification program to monitor and control energy usage of the facility ensuring the client’s energy efficiency goals are met through the life cycle of the facility.

We provided energy audits and retro-commissioning services for several existing buildings as well as developed life cycle cost estimates for repair of these facilities. After award of our second IDIQ contract we received several new courthouse projects throughout California. We are performing LEED® Enhanced Commissioning services on these new courthouses which are each pursuing LEED® Silver (or higher) certification. We are commissioning the MEP systems, lighting systems, low voltage and AV systems, the security and CCTV systems as well as the smoke evacuation and fire alarm systems.

Description
  • In the summer of 2011, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works moved forward with a Design Build contract to renovate and restore this historic facility from 1925. Work on the 14-story building includes the demolition of the existing 11th and 13th floors to retrofit and bring the building up to seismic performance standards. It will also include numerous tenant improvements throughout the facility - new building systems (MEP), data and telecommunication systems, low voltage security, elevator systems and the construction of a new 1,000 space parking structure. Historic elements will be preserved and/or installed and a new interpretive center with a kitchen/dining facility is also planned to preserve the historic significance of the building.
